Global Warming, not just a story anymore

Who's the leader of the Club?

I do agree that global warming has become a big problem the past years, even decades. The US government still refuses to admit to any sort of problem.

I believe though that if something isn't done about the issue soon, we could be out of luck for our future generations. They are going to be the ones dealing with the problem, but that's what we as American's tend to do. Push issues to the side and ignore them.

So what if there's a......and what does it have to do with me? So what if there's a rapid climate change because I rather enjoy the warmer weather. As I said before, if we don't concentrate on the environment as one of our main issues, we'll be out of luck.

Barry's Response - Maybe you're being a little hard on your fellow countrymen, Jessica, and maybe not. Some nations have done a little more to curtail their global environmental effects, but only some.

Government

What did Barrack Obama's administration do about it during his presidency? "...we risk consigning future generations to an irreversible catastrophe...the time we have to reverse this tide is running out." Sounds like a serious take on the issue. They were all for immediate action on it. All the specifics I have uncovered so far is the implementation of GHG credits, not exactly a new idea. Let's hope the revenue generated goes towards generating good ideas.

This is not a story anymore

It's a reality we are dealing with. I want to clarify something: the ozone hole (which is recovering thanks to global cooperation!) and global warming are two different things. Global warming is caused by CO2, not ozone depletion.

There's often a lag between political action and results, which can be frustrating. The world acted on the ozone hole, and it worked. Climate change is accelerating due partially to human emissions. Hope can be found cheaper renewable energy and in predicting changes using better climate models.

As skeptics like Martin Durkin point out, the solar cycle and orbital wobbles shape Earth's long-term climate. Today's warming may go beyond those natural factors observed. We're in new territory.

How's it going? We're not powerless. Governments can implement policies, but grassroots action counts too. Just by reducing your energy use, voting for climate-conscious policies, or just having these conversations, you're already making a difference. You can dig deeper into these issues
on this website. Let's explore together!
