The Bold Truth about Billionaires and Bad Water - Is the Earth really in trouble, or are we just watching a movie? See how pictures, politics, and your own backyard science are shaping the future!
Priyaragunath starts us off: Its all about how they affect the environment the changes in the climatic condition and it nature.
Barry's Response - Are the changes dependent on humans, Priyaragunath? Perhaps not.

You stepped right into the Attribution ring. - When it comes to air pollution and global warming, is it humans or nature? Our planet wobbles on its axis through Milankovitch cycles, which tilt us toward or away from the sun. CO2 acts like a thermal blanket, but the Sun's own magnetic mood swings (Solar Cycles) determine the base temperature.
Let's not let anyone tell you science is settled. Science never sleeps, and it shouldn't stop asking questions. Not because we're scared of a computer model, but because it's the right thing to do.

people might not know that pollution is kiiling us! everywhere its polluted! we cant live in a free polluted enviroment, but please help not pollute!
It will make a difference for out home! Save me, save you, save us!
Barry's Response - OK C'mon everybody. Wise up. 'nuff said.
Thank you Lily and everyone.
Lily, your passion shines! - You mention "Ambient Air Quality." We breathe roughly 11,000 liters of air a day. Particulate Matter (PM2.5) bypasses our throat's filters and gets in our blood. That's the 'killing us' part.
While the Left wants to save the planet, the Right wants efficiency. What's up? Engines with clean fuel are more efficient. We need to start inventing, not stop living. It's possible to win the health game without losing our freedom to travel and build if we engineer better scrubbers for factories.

WOW
Barry's Response ...um, thanks tiea. I'm not thirsty....anymore...
Here's more

Answer: Sometimes a "WOW" says more than a 500-page report. - The Hydrological Cycle has failed when water looks like that. Air pollution doesn't just sit there, it rains down (Acid Rain) and soaks into our groundwater.
I'm with you - I'll stick to my reusable bottle for now. When the sink water tastes like a chemistry set, we act surprised. Filtering a billion gallons of water takes math and grit. It's time to stop gasping and start plumbing!

global warming is very dangerous to our earth. it is very harmful if we not protecting by growing plants and etc. if we are not growing plants corbondioxide is increase and our ozone layer will be holed.
Barry's Response - There are numerous potential disasters that could result from our carelessness. Let's see how our planning and foresight from this point on avert those elements of pending doom.
Just an idea.
Neeraja, you've got the spirit - Putting trees in the ground is a Carbon Sink masterclass. It's basically a math/chemistry equation:
6CO2 + 6H2O + light ---> C6H12O6 + 6O2
I have to correct one thing, though - with love...you can't fix the Ozone Hole by planting trees. The Ozone layer lives way up in the stratosphere and got hurt by old fridge chemicals (CFCs), not CO2. Here, trees help us breathe, but they can't reach that high. Still, more green means less heat, so dig away!

The harmful gases emitted by factories and nuclear reactors is very harmful for environment as well as animal life.
Barry's Response - Many of them for sure. Harmful gases are also released by fires and volcanic eruptions. Don't forget cars.
Factories provide our LEGOs...and our laptops, but they also emit Critieria Air Contaminants. We ask about air pollution and global warming and the Albedo Effect. Dark soot (Black Carbon) lands on white snow, making it absorb heat instead of reflecting it.
We love our tech, but we hate the chimney. Instead of banning factories, let's make them Closed Loops where waste becomes fuel. This isn't about Economy vs. Environment - that's a false choice. There's an Old Tech vs. New Genius debate. I pick the genius.

i don't know.
Barry's Response
Very nice, Kasey, and you cannot be 100% certain from a photo what it is, but judging by its blue tint, I'd guess it was smoke from a regional forest fire. Fog in the air is another possibility.
Search this site for more information now.
Every great discovery starts with "I don't know" Rayleigh scattering is probably what's causing that blue haze. Tiny particles from smoke or salt scatter short blue light waves more than long red ones. It's Mie scattering from water droplets (fog) if the air looks thick and white.
The Sophisticated Take: It's like a Turner painting or a jazz tune. Colors speak to us. The atmosphere tells a story, whether it's a forest fire's breath or the ocean's mist. It's just a matter of learning the language of light.
